There is a ledge on the back of the item it’s like a clip and it is the length of the bag. It hooks over the cabinet door and hangs there then you pull open the bag pulling it forward. You put a plastic bag in there and then there is a clip that holds the plastic bag in the front. Works very well. You will like it

It is a large rectangular box. Good size. Difficult to keep the bag on/in but it does the job. You would have to have to right cabinets for it. If you are needing a small space for small trash, this works great. Worked well for trash when cooking.

How is it hung into the cabinet door?
Can this be hung inside of the cabinet instead of on the outside?
Yes I believe you could as long as the inside door is clear. It wouldn't be as effective though. With it outside you can scrape your peels and scraps right into the bag from the counter.
What are the dimensions of this bin when fully expanded?
6" plus the lip that hangs the bin from the drawer or door. Hope this helps.
How do I close the top of the bag to keep odors in the bag?
There is no lid so you cannot close the top. I empty mine everyday, but if anything in it has an offensive odor I use smaller bags and take it out more often.
